Hello everyone,
Seniors
The next Adults test will be held on Sunday the 18th of December. This will be followed by the Christmas party. For students 5th Kyu and above, test practice will commence this Wednesday 30th of November and by Wednesday 7th December, all students will be running through test practice. Please remember to organise your testing partners/uke now.
There is still a few more days left to submit an article, artwork/photography or personal reflections for the Annual Magazine. Please speak to Vassili or please email your contribution to admin@aikidoshudokan.com.
Please remember as the weather is warming up to keep hydrated and remember to maintain good hygiene. There should always be a basic courtesy of hygiene. You’d figure this would be a given. But apparently, it’s not always, so here are some things that I feel compelled to mention:
* Wash your Gi on a regular basis. You may not need to wash it after every class, but please wash it before it starts to get… ripe.
* Wear deodorant and/or shower/bathe regularly please.
Juniors
Test practice is in full swing; remember to pick up your testing booklets from the front desk. Please speak to myself, Sensei David or any of the assistants if you don’t have a testing booklet. The Children’s Test will be on the 10th December. Please try and practice your falling sequences for your grading.
After the grading the Children’s Christmas Party will be held at Ivanhoe Aquatic Centre, 170 Waterdale Rd, Ivanhoe from 3pm – 5pm. It will cost $2 entry per person, payable at the dojo front desk. Please bring a plate of food on the day. Parents and siblings are welcome
Also if any of you kids want to write anything about Aikido or the Dojo or have any drawings you’d like to give us for the Annual Magazine please come see myself or any of the other instructors. Or you could ask you parents to email it to admin@aikidoshudokan.com
Have a great week everyone

Hello everyone,
Seniors
The 8th-4yh Kyu Test is on the 22nd October. Please complete and hand in your testing forms by this Thursday the 20th October. All students that are testing need to be in a clean dogi on the mats at 3:30pm sharp for the briefing. The test will commence at 4:00pm.
The City Dojo will be adding an extra class on Thursday from 6.15-7.15pm, starting on 20th October. This will be an Intermediate/Advanced class and will be open to 5th Kyu and above.
Please also remember for administration purposes, that all students must slide their names across at the front desk at the Thornbury dojo. If you do not have a name up on there, please speak to the dojo staff and we will be sure to print one out for you.
Also from the 28th-30th October Sensei Joe, Sensei Jon, Sensei Enrica and myself are going up to the Sunshine Coast to attend the Festival of Traditional Martial Arts hosted by Sensei David Dangerfield. This will be a very special event as Sensei David will also be celebrating the 20th anniversary of his dojo. The weekend will encompass a few workshops taught by Sensei Joe and Sensei David followed by a Traditional Martial Arts Demonstration. Please speak with the staff for more information.
Juniors
