Aikido Shudokan operates schools in Thornbury and Oakleigh in Melbourne, and tests are run for both schools every two months, with tests for higher graded students held three times a year. The testing process in martial arts enables men and women to set themselves a goal, improve their fitness and push themselves to the next level.

Photos featuring aikido techniques executed by Joe Thambu Shihan and Enrica Cheung Sensei, one of the women instructors at Aikido Shudokan, and other students of the dojo are in the gallery. These were taken at the Thornbury Dojo in Melbourne in January 2010 and are courtesy of Matt Bottos.

Yoshinkan Aikido appears yet again in the latest Blitz Magazine (Volume 24 No. 2)!

Darren Skelton Sensei of Yoshinkan Aikido Watanabe Dojo in Perth has written an article regarding “Fear: Friend & Foe” in response the the question: “In martial art, how important in the learning process is facing and mastering fear, and what elements of the training help students to do this, either directly or indirectly?”

There is also an interview with Watanabe Ikuo Shihan covering his thoughts on aikido, including the benefits of aikido, effectiveness of aikido and training with the late Shioda Gozo Kancho.

In addition to these informative articles, there are also photos of Aikido Shudokan students in the magazine, so make sure you have a look at the latest edition of Blitz Magazine!
