Seniors

The date for the next 8^th-4yh Kyu Test has been changed and is now on the 22^nd October. Please try and sought out who you will be testing with and start training with them.

The City Dojo will be adding an extra class on Thursday from 6.15-7.15pm, starting on 20^th October. This will be an Intermediate/Advanced class and will be open to 5^th Kyu and above.

Please also remember for administration purposes, that all students must slide their names across at the front desk at the Thornbury dojo. If you do not have a name up on there, please speak to the dojo staff and we will be sure to print one out for you.

Also from the 28^th-30^th October Sensei Joe, Sensei Jon, Sensei Enrica and myself are going up to the Sunshine Coast to attend the Festival of Traditional Martial Arts hosted by Sensei David Dangerfield. This will be a very special event as Sensei David will also be celebrating the 20^th anniversary of his dojo. The weekend will encompass a few workshops taught by Sensei Joe and Sensei David followed by a Traditional Martial Arts Demonstration. Please speak with the staff for more information.

Juniors

Badge testing is back in full swing, remember to use the time before and after class to practice. Please remember to try aim to test for the belt tying, back fall and forward roll badge before going for any harder badges.

The holiday schedule has now finished up and the normal classes will start back on Monday the 10^th October.

Results of Adult’s Test

Held on the 27th August 2011, congratulations to all those who tested – Osu.

Aikido Shudokan operates schools in Thornbury, Oakleigh, City and Caufield in Melbourne, and tests are run for Thornbury and Oakleigh schools every two months, with tests for higher graded students held three times a year. The testing process in martial arts enables men and women to set themselves a goal, improve their fitness and push themselves to the next level.

Hello everyone,

Spring time is approaching, the days are getting longer, warmer and the trees are pushing out pretty flowers. This is all the more reason to come in and burn off all the fat built up over the winter period.

Seniors
The all levels grading is on this Saturday the 27th August. For all those grading please complete and hand in your registration forms by this Thursday at the latest. The Saturday 12:30-1:30pm class will run as usual, and the testing times are the following:
8th-4th Kyu Test
-Briefing – 2:00pm
-Test – 2:30 pm
3rd Kyu and above
-Briefing – 4:00pm
-Test – 4:30

Please remember that all students are to be on the mats in a clean dogi at the exact time of the briefing.

Afterwards we will be heading out to the Peacock Hotel located on High St Northcote for a few eats and drinks.

Juniors
This is the last week for Badge Testing. Please remember that you guys should be going for your belt tying badge before you move onto anything other badges. Please ask the assistants or instructors after class for help with badge testing.

As from next week, we will start training for the upcoming Children’s Test on the 17th of September. Also if you‘re unsure if you are or should be grading please speak to Sensei Enrica or myself to confirm.
