Weekly Bulletin: The Prophecy
If it were self-fulfilling, it wouldn't need an announcement.
Yes the auction party is still set for August the 11th! It may look like a long ways off, but like all of Nostradamus’ predictions its arrival is inevitable. A lot of the same question keeps coming through: Exactly what is an auction party? We’re auctioning off goods and services and raising money for the dojo. But that’s not why we’re so excited. We’re excited because this year’s auction party has been foretold in the ancient text of Thambu. The prophet of profit has declared it will be a night of Armageddon followed by a morning feeling like the Antichrist. Those who miss out will feel more square than a quatrain. Organise your tables soon and get in to the biggest event this side of the end of the world!
The Shudokan site still has that new webpage smell and we’re looking for you to help us break it in. You don’t have to be Tron to navigate the intricacies of this one, it’s as user friendly as a Shihan on a Friday night. Don’t believe me, ask him yourself! Check out the new ‘Ask Joe Thambu Shihan’ button right on the homepage.
The schedule is changing a bit at the Oakleigh dojo. The Monday class is hanging up its spurs for a while, so make this Monday the 4th a very special day by attending the final session.
Happy birthday to the Queen on Monday the 11th! It would be a much happier birthday if the Thornbury dojo was open, but the Monarch of the Realms insists we have the day off (since 1788).
The last announcement is the Malaysia gasshuku celebrating a combined 100 years of aikido. All those interested in taking the trip in October see Sensei Joe’s facebook post from May 23rd. A quick rundown of the itinerary: Thursday 11th to 14th Malaysia (4 nights); Monday 15th to 19th Thailand (5 nights), with two in Phuket and three in Phi Phi. If you’re interested and you can’t find the details, don’t be afraid to ask!
